The End

Yes, the story isn't finished... yet.
But, I would like to post the ending and... move on to "shorter" stories.

So, here it is.

Ending chap 13 boy view
“Are you all ready, Elliot?” My mom hurried me. “Evelyn is waiting for you in a half-death state.” She joked, threatening me.
“ Yes, I am, mother.” I answered, without expression. I was trying to hide my sadness about Evelyn, going to live in the US, and might never return again.
“Are you still upset about Evelyn?” My mother asked softly, she can observe anything in a person’s heart, especially mine.
I didn't answer her question, she sighed and opened the door. I walked through the door without saying a word, my mind racing about Evelyn leaving. My heart ached.

...My heart...ached? I’ve never experienced heart aching, what do people call this feeling again? I just couldn't understand.
“You’ve liked her ever since you’ve met her, didn’t you?” Mom said from behind. I widen my eyes, and turned around, to see her smiling so kindly, that my heart could melt. “Whenever you look at her, your face is full of happiness and kindness, it's unlike the happiness you have when you're doing something you really like, and it's unlike the kindness you have when you're looking at a friend. The time I noticed, I knew you’ve liked her.”
“...?” That time, I suddenly realized, that I like Evelyn. The girl I met under the cherry blossom trees.
“Sweetie, you really are grown up now.” Mom said, walked up to me and hugged me.
I hugged her back, “Thank you, mother,” I whispered into her ears. I smiled, finally realising that Evelyn was the important person in my life.

My mom and I arrived at the airport, to see Evelyn waiting inside, since she’s just going by herself, her family wasn’t there. She still haven’t been through the security checkpoint. She noticed me, and waved towards us. She was wearing a light-looking dress to her knees decorated with light blue and white polka dots with a sand coloured chaqueta. The bright white dress shoes symbolized her youth. She was carrying a black, small size suitcase, and a white linen bag hanging on her right shoulder, where her long black hair was resting on.
I ran to her, hoping to see her face one last time, and tell her what my feelings are.
“Hey Evelyn,” I panted from the running, “good to see you again.”
“Oh? To see a both athletic and straight A student panting from such a short run? I must be dreaming.” She said with a grin and sarcasm. “Good to see you too, actually, Elliot.” She switched from sarcasm to kindness.
I smiled at her, still panting. I’ve locked myself in my room for weeks without exercising, worrying about Evelyn’s leave, of course I’m panting now.
Evelyn was surprised that I didn’t answer her question, “hey Elliot?...Did something happened?” She noticed something wrong from both my tiredness from the short run and the sadness that’s in my smile.
“Oh, I’m fine…” I said, lowering my head. Evelyn’s hand reach out to my shoulder, but mom came, finally catching up with me.
“Hey there Evelyn,” Mom said with a smile.
“Hello, Mrs Brooklyn,” Evelyn answered politely, while quickly took her hand off my shoulder. “Did something happened? Elliot seems strange today...”
“Oh, it’s nothing,” Mom smiled, “it’s just love affairs.” I turned my head around, surprised that mom would say a thing like this.
“You like someone, Elliot?” Evelyn asked me, with a complex expression that’s in between surprise and sadness, “I thought you didn’t understand love.” Now she said in sarcasm, but still carrying a slight sadness in it.
“U-uh…” I answered, blushing a little. Evelyn looked at me in confusion now, and I got up the courage and said, “Evelyn, you are the one I-“
But before I could finish my confession, the speaker interrupted me, “Ladies and gentlemen, if you are on the flight to New York City, USA, at 11am, and haven’t gone through the security checkpoint, please go to there now, we will be boarding in gate 67 in 20 minutes.”
“Oh my!” Evelyn gasped as she is checking her watch, “I have to go now! Bye Elliot, bye Mrs. Brooklyn! See you later!” She said, and is already grabbing her suitcase’s handle.
“Wait!” I grabbed the sleeve of her chaqueta, and said in fusion. And remembered that this happened months ago too, under the cherry blossoms, when we first officially met.
Evelyn seemed to remembered too, and said, “What’s wrong, Elliot?” I let go of her sleeve, she stood there, waiting for me to answer.
“Evelyn, I never noticed this before, but a second ago, I did. I don’t know what your answer would be like, but please hear me out! “ I said all those words anxiously, averting her gaze. I've never been this emotional in my whole life, this is probably the first time that I expressed myself that much. I have noticed that I was always calm about everything, and is seldom emotional, both inside and outside. But from the time I met Evelyn, I became more emotional than I ever had before.
The girl standing before me is even more confused, she turned around, fully facing me now.
“I-I like you!” I said, closing my eyes. When I opened my eyes, I saw a drop of water dripping down Evelyn’s cheek. I looked up to get a better view of her full face, and saw her crying, in surprise.
I widen my eyes, and mentally kicked myself for making a girl cry. I glance back to see mom, a hand on her head, looking downwards, sighing. I knew I’ve done this wrong.
“I-I’m s-sorry…” I stammered in embarrassment. She still stood there, and just seemed to noticed there’s tears in her eyes.
“E-eh…?” Evelyn finally noticed she was crying, and said, “Wh-why am I crying?” She tried to wiped her tears away with the sand-coloured chaqueta, but they just keep flowing. She laughed, but her tears didn’t stop.
Suddenly, she ran towards me, and hugged me. She kneeled down, like she doesn’t have any strength left in her legs. I followed her, and kneeled down to my knees too. She was crying so hard, and I was patting her head, trying to comfort her. But she kept crying into my chest, wettening the white shirt I was wearing. I didn’t know why she cried, but I smiled at her.
“I-I like you too!!” Evelyn cried out, “I-I’m sorry I haven’t realize…!” I was surprised, and turned to see mom raising her head, and also wore a surprised expression, then she mouthed the words “go Elliot go do something”
I smiled, and whispered into her ear, “thank you. For making my life full of blossoms.”
She stopped crying, and looked into my eyes, her eyes were wide, her hazel pupils sparkling with tears. Then she smiled, it was one of her happiest smile, “thank you too, for filling my life full of wonderful colours.”
************
“Will miss Evelyn Zhang, I repeat, miss Evelyn Zhang, immediately come to gate 67 for boarding on the flight to New York City, USA please.”
Evelyn had stopped crying, and is hugging me and mom for a last farewell.
“Elliot, Mrs.Brooklyn, I will make sure to write letters and long emails to you,” Evelyn said with a smile, wiping away the fragments of her tears.
Then she quickly hugged me, whispered into my ears, “Sorry, Elliot, but I have to go chase my own dreams...I’m sure you will find yours soon too…”
“Yes...I’m sorry for burdening you like this when you’ve got your own dreams,” I whispered, and hugging her back.
She smiled, and I let go of her.
Farewell, I thought, thank you for everything until now.
As I watched her silhouette walking away, I closed my eyes.
I could almost imagine our first meeting, and feel the cherry blossoms along the school field washing over me once again.

I’ll be waiting for you.

Chap 3, Boys View I turned around as I heard the thud that’s coming from behind me. Then i saw evelyn, falling onto the ground, with a racket beside her. I saw her mouthed my name, then she became very still. Then I realize I the situation I am in, and I dropped my own racquet, and ran towards her. Nicholas seemed to be running away, probably for a teacher’s help. “Evelyn? Are you ok? Hey girl, don’t fall asleep on me.” The girl, whom if I recalled clearly, called Chloe Westbrook, is kneeling beside her, almost crying. “Hi Chloe,” I said as I kneld down, “What happened? OK, you can tell me in the infirmary, but let’s get her up first.”   Chloe Westbrook took her eyes off Evelyn, and looked at me, stunned. “Wait, are you…” “No time to talk, she might die here,” I kind of half joked, in a serious way. It seemed to have an effect on Chloe, and she immediately tried to pick Evelyn off the shiny gym floor. “Mind if I take her?” I smiled kindly. She glared at me, but hand...
